Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (AOBA)

AOBA was the first organization to formalize standards for the business, establish an ancestral registry, create standards for alpaca shows and proactively promote the alpaca business.  It now publishes a fine magazine, promotes fiber arts events, shows and alpaca retail products, and much more.  It now has 4,000 members who own more than 100,000 alpacas.
